## A different kind of Shopify theme

Most Shopify themes are built around sections — fixed, monolithic blocks of content that you stack vertically. Helix takes a fundamentally different approach.

Every element on the page — a heading, a price, a button, a media gallery — is an independent block. Sections act as containers, and blocks are the building material. This means you're not choosing from a list of pre-designed layouts; you're composing your own directly in the Shopify editor, without touching a single line of code.

This architecture draws inspiration from **Horizon** — Shopify's own reference implementation for next-generation themes — allowing your store to evolve freely without being forced into fixed, rigid patterns.
