# Back in stock

Replaces the Add to Cart button with a notify-me form on sold-out variants, both on the product page and in quick add on product cards. Collects the shopper's email, and optionally their name and phone number.

Helix collects the contact details. It does not send the "back in stock" email for you — you send that yourself, or connect an email/SMS app that sends it when you restock.

## How to turn it on

1. In the theme editor, open [**Theme settings → Add to cart button**](/helix/theme-settings/add-to-cart-button.md#back-in-stock-alert).
2. Under **Back-in-stock alert**, turn on **Enable back-in-stock alert**.
3. Choose which fields to collect. Email is always included; add the name and phone number fields if you want them.
4. Choose how the form opens on desktop and mobile. The setting is storewide.
