# Quick edit

Lets shoppers change a cart line item's variant or quantity without leaving the cart. Opening a line item reveals a panel with the product image, title, price, variant options, and a quantity selector.

The panel has no styling of its own — it inherits your cart and global theme settings.

## How to turn it on

Quick edit is a setting on the **Cart items** block, so turn it on in each place that block appears:

* **Cart drawer** — theme editor → **Overlay group → Cart drawer →** [**Cart items**](/helix/overlay-group/cart-drawer.md#cart-items).
* **Cart page** — theme editor → cart template → **Content →** [**Cart items**](/helix/other-sections/cart-page.md#cart-items).

In either place, turn on **Enable quick edit**, then optionally set **Show product media**, **Show badges**, and **Show quantity selector**.

Quick edit does not appear on subscription lines — a cart line bought on a selling plan can't have its variant swapped without losing the plan, so those lines send the shopper to the product page instead. They keep their quantity selector, and the product title still links through.
