# Subheading

A small label, typically placed above or below a heading to add category, collection, or campaign context.

| Setting          | Description                                                                                                        |
| ---------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Text             | The subheading content. Presets are set in [**Theme settings → Typography**](/helix/theme-settings/typography.md). |
| Color            | Draw from the **Heading** or **Text** color of the scheme.                                                         |
| Show background  | Wrap the text in a colored pill.                                                                                   |
| Show icon        | Display a small icon before the text.                                                                              |
| Icon             | Circle, Square, Diamond, Sparkle, or Line.                                                                         |
| Border thickness | Width of the block's border.                                                                                       |
| Corner radius    | Corner rounding: Inherit, Square, Rounded, or Custom.                                                              |
| Shadow           | Drop-shadow depth: None → Large.                                                                                   |
| Color scheme     | Color scheme applied to the block.                                                                                 |
| Animation        | Entrance effect (Fade, Scale, Slide from left / right / bottom) played on scroll, with an optional **Delay**.      |
| Padding          | Outer spacing: top / bottom, with independent mobile values via **Custom for mobile**.                             |
